A second minute goal from Sekou Camara handed Horoya a slender 1-0 win over Petro Atletico in a CAF Champions League, Group C match at the Estadio 11 de Novembro on Saturday night.
The win sees Horoya with a fight chance to qualify for the knockout stages of the competition as they now sit second in the group on eight points, tied with Chiefs and only two behind leaders Wydad AC.
The loss for Petro, on the other hand, is their fourth of the group stages and sees them stone last with only one point to their name.
The game itself got off to a fast start with Horoya taking the lead as early as the second minute following a swift move which concluded with Camara finding the back of the net.
That, however, was as exciting as the night got with both teams really poor in possession after the opening goal. Both teams were horrendous in the final third, either giving the ball away cheaply or due to their woeful finishing.
When the final whistle came the majority of people watching the match would have been thankful.
Horoya are in action again in Group C on Saturday, April 10 when they take on Chiefs while Petro will take on Wydad on the same day.
